Our Academics
Literacy
For Literature we will be focusing on both Non-fiction (Scholastic News and Readworks articles) and fictional novels. Each quarter students will be responsible for completing a book report. They will have to choose a book to read throughout the quarter and do a written report on the book that they read.
Science
We will be using the STEM (Science, Engineering, and Mathematics) model for science this year. This model aims to foster inquiring minds, logical reasoning, and collaboration skills. There will be a number of in-class learning activities and projects.
Writing
Writing, writing, writing.....We will be doing a lot of writing in all subjects areas, as well as, just for fun.
Agriculture
Our school sits on what once was agricultural land. Agriculture is a part of our daily lives and surrounds us in our neighboring areas. As a school, we want to teach the children the value of it and how important it is in our daily lives.
Mathematics
For math this year we will be using the McGraw-Hill sieries. Some things that you child will be working on in math this year are: volume, adding & subtracting of fractions, adding and subtracting decimals, multipluing & dividing of fractions, and multiplying and dividing of decimals.
Physical Education
Physical Education will be done eveyday with your child. This will take place either inside or outside depending on the air quality. We will be incorporating a variety of exercises, games, and activities.
